Donald Plath, our beloved father, grandfather, and GG passed away December 31, 2025 in
Maple Valley. Don was born in Yakima on November 9, 1930. His family eventually moved to
the Seattle area where he attended Franklin High School before enlisting in the US Navy in
1948, where he served honorably until 1952. In 1953 he married Ann Nilsson, also of Seattle.
They were blessed with 3 children, Susan, David, and Donald. The Plath family moved to
Renton where Don and Ann instilled in their kids the importance, values, and joys of family
life. They were involved in all their curricular activities and provided support and
encouragement along the way. Don was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, camping,
hunting, and traveling with close friends and family. Don also loved watching and following
the Mariners, Seahawks, Sonics, Storm, and other local sports teams. In his later years Don
loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was affectionately called “GG” by his great
grandchildren. Don loved his family very much, and he will truly be missed by those who
knew him and loved him.
