Evelyn Frances Mitchell - Augusta 2,1944 - December 14,2021 Renton Washington

Evelyn F Mitchell of Renton passed away in peace surrounded by family and friends on December 14th, 2021. Evelyn was born in Bremerton Washington on August 2,1944 to Mary Frances Sabisch and Leonard Upton Mitchell but was raised by Harry Hartman and Mary Sabisch-Hartman.

She is survived by her two sisters; One would like to be Anonymous. Laura Hartman; niece, Rachelle Malnar; great niece,Kaela Gabbard; great great niece Isabella Rose Gabbard, and one other sister.

Evelyn was devoted to the local Renton Baha’i assembly and a devoted community volunteer. For the last several years she volunteered for the local Renton AARP.

She will be remembered as a young sports enthusiast, teaching skiing at two sky resorts and being a member of the Ski Patrol. During the Boeing layoff of the 1970s. She bicycled 10 miles a day. Evelyn was a  strong, capable, determined woman who became the strongest advocate of social justice.

Her neighbors will remember her as the Gentle Matriarch. She loved to spend her evenings knitting and crocheting.

Her home and her heart has always been open to those in need. As her soul moves on to her next life, her body has been laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 100 Blaine Ave NE, Renton.
