Fook Sun Fong

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, Fook Sun (Fred) Fong, a beloved father, husband, and brother, passed away at the age of seventy-three as a result of an accident. Born to Lai Wah Chan and Chung Kong Fong in Canton, Fook Sun moved to Hong Kong with his family including his sister Amy. There, he met his wife, Yuet Yung (Alice) and had a son, Yiu Ting (Gary). In Hong Kong, he co-founded an electronics company of which he was the vice-president while also serving as president of another company in China. Eventually, the family moved together to Seattle, WA where they still reside.

Fook Sun loved gardening, particularly fruits and vegetables, as well as going fishing, crabbing and collecting shellfish. This likely stems from his affection for delicious food which can be seen when Fook Sun perks up when his son would bring him food that was prepared without any sodium or other health-conscious restrictions.

Fook Sun was best known for his humble character, hardworking nature, and a fierce love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife, Alice, his son, Gary, and his sister Amy. A private viewing and burial service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date yet to be determined. Sending flowers is not necessary, but for those that feel compelled, flowers may be sent to Mt. Olivet Cemetery on September 29.
